Rules of the Game
- Each team will have one Medic and two Bodyguards. The rest of the players will be called Warriors
- If the Medic touches or gets hit by a foam-ball at any point during the game, the game is over and the other team gets a point. This
includes balls that are thrown, rolled, or accidently touched by the medic that are stationary on the ground. If a
dodgeball hits the Healing Wand of the Medic, that is counted as being part of the Medic. Even if the Medic gets hit in the head, they
are out.
-The Bodyguards will be wearing jerseys and their job is to block and defend the Medic. If the Bodyguards get hit with a ball, nothing
happens. Bodyguards are not allowed to throw the dodgeballs. The Bodyguards should stay by the Medic throughout the entire the
game to protect the Medic at all cost.
- If a Bodyguard catches a ball, they just drop it and continue to protect the Medic.
- If you are not a Medic, or a Bodyguard, then you are called a Warrior. The goal for the Warriors is to throw the dodgeballs at the
opposing teams Medic.
- If a Warrior gets hit with a ball from the shoulders down, they need to take a knee. The way they get back up and into the game is if
their Medic touches them with the Healing Wand.
- If a Warrior gets hit in the head while they are standing straight up, the person who threw the ball is the one who needs to take a
knee. If a Warrior ducks down and gets hit in the head, this counts as a legal hit and the Warrior that got hit in the head will take a
knee.
- If a Warrior throws a ball at another Warrior, and the opposing Warrior catches the ball, the Warrior who threw the ball must take a
knee.
- If a ball rolls or bounces and hits a Warrior, the Warrior that got hit is not out. The balls need to be in the air the entire time and then hit a
warrior for it to count.
- If a Warrior is holding a ball, they are allowed to deflect, or block the incoming balls with the ball in their hand. A Warrior is only
allowed to hold 1 ball at a time. If they have 2 or more balls at a time, they need to drop all the balls and take a knee.
- If a Warrior blocks an incoming ball with their hands or any other part of their body, that counts as a hit and they will take a knee.
- If a Warrior attempts to catch a ball and drops it on the floor, it is as if they got hit and they will take a knee.
- If a ball hits a Warrior, or is deflected by a Warrior and another Warrior on his/her team catches the ball in the air, the person who
threw the ball will need to take a knee.
- If a Warrior gets out while holding a ball in their hand, they need to let go of the ball as they take a knee. They can not hold onto it
and wait for them to be healed. They must allow their teammates to use the ball while they are taking a knee.
- If a Warrior throws a ball and a Bodyguard catches it, nothing happens. The Warrior is still active in the game and continues to play.
- The area in-between the two playing sides is called the Moat. A player is not allowed to be in the Moat at any time during the game.
No part of your body is allowed to touch the moat. Hands included. You are allowed to have your feet stay on your side of the playing
field and reach over and grab a ball - as long as your body doesn't touch the ground of the Moat area.
- If a Warrior goes into the Moat area, they need to go back onto their side and immediately take a knee and wait to be healed by their
Medic.
- Warriors are allowed to go outside the cones to retrieve balls for their team. They cannot, however, throw any balls until the come completely back into the coned playing area.
- Only the Bodyguards are allowed to protect the Medic. The Warriors are not allowed to be near the Medic and try to protect the
Medic.
-You are not allowed to the kick the balls.
- You are not allowed to be on the ground unless you are kneeling down because you are out. No rolling, sliding, diving, crawling,
etc...
- When the whistle blows, everybody needs to take a knee and listen for clarification of rules or for further instructions from the teacher
