California State Fitness Testing

Each of these tests are performed by all 5th, 7th, and 9th graders

The one mile run is a test of aerobic capacity cardiovascular endurance, in which the qualifying time to pass the test is determined by one's age, height, and weight.

Body Mass Index-BMI

For this test your height and weight is taken to measure your body mass index

The Curl ups test measures abdominal strength and endurance.

The Push-Up test measures upper body strength and endurance.  It is measured by the number of push-ups performed correctly.

The trunk lift test measures trunk extensor strength and flexibility.

The Back Saver Sit and Reach test measures flexibility.  The test is performed with both the left leg out in front of you with the right knee bent, as well as the right leg out in front with the left leg bent.
