Lava Rocks

 Materials Needed
-Hula Hoops

Rules of the Game

-Lava Rocks is usually played inside an empty classroom or an auditorium, but can also be played outdoors.

-The object is to make it across the room without touching the ground outside a hula hoop. If  any part of the body touches the ground outside the hoop, the person is out and they go to the pre-determined "out" spot.

-The hoops represent the rocks and anything outside the hoop is considered the lava.  At the end of the room, there are a few hoops that represent the finish line, and once you jump into one of those, you have completed that round and you may get back in line for the next round.

-At the beginning of the game, there are many rocks to jump in on your way across the room, but as the rounds continue, more and more hoops are taken away, making it much more difficult to get across to the other side.

-Once you start, you may jump into any rock that you want, as long as it is not already occupied.  If you jump into a hoop that already has someone in it, you are out.  If two people simultaneously jump into the same hoop, they are both out.

-As the rounds go on and the teacher takes away more and more hoops, they can spread them out to make it more difficult for the players.

-The game continues until only one person makes it through the course safely, or until no one makes it across.
